Wen Yih Yu (a.k.a. Andy Yu) is a native of Taiwan who now lives in Memphis, Tennessee. He is a violinist with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, as well as a violin faculty member of the Rhodes College Music Department. When not playing in the orchestra or giving lessons at Rhodes College, he enjoys playing chamber music with his friends and colleagues. He has participated in many performances at Crosstown Arts, the Memphis Chamber Music Society and many other occasions around the greater Memphis area. He has performed with the Rhodes College Orchestra as the featured soloist has given recitals in Taipei, New York, and Texas.
Wen Yih Yu is dedicated to working with young musicians, too. He has served as the director of the string orchestra of Rhodes College and guest conducted Memphis Youth String Orchestra in the concert. Wen Yih has a private violin studio at his home.
Wen Yih Yu holds a Master in Music degree from the Mannes College of Music in New York. He was a member of Taipei Symphony Orchestra prior to coming to United States.
