With a captivating front-man, soulful guitar leads, and a tight rhythm section, the Memphis-based Max Kaplan Band has an exciting and original sound harkening back to the sonic landscape of funky Motown and Stax era soul, to the guitar driven blues of the 1960’s. Max is an energetic vocalist and shares the two-guitar lineup with right hand man Jad Tariq, resulting in a poignant display of blues guitar through the medium of Memphis soul songwriting. Their influences include B.B. King, Leon Bridges, James Brown, Alabama Shakes, Al Green, The Staples Singers etc.
