Since the 1970’s, Streeter & The Tribe, are among one of the first Soul Bands birthed out of Memphis, Tennessee to release original music. The Tribe was a vision set out by songwriter, producer, and professional drummer, Charles O. Streeter, Sr. Known for playing behind world-renowned artists like Jennifer Lopez, Chaka Khan, Tori Kelly and many others. Streeter formed, Streeter & The Tribe after returning to Memphis from Los Angeles in 2016. The creation of Streeter & Tribe began with engaging with a few of Memphis’ finest musicians and sought after vocalists to form a cover band. After the musical stage was set, the band would put away cover tunes and begin production of their own original music and sound. Streeter & Tribe, a group of uniquely talented friends and artists joined together to create a new sound of funk, soul, jazz, and r&b. With inspiration from Memphis artist such as Isaac Hayes, The Barkays, Al Green, and other sounds of Stax and Hi Records artist. The Tribe has many different musical elements with a band consisting of twelve band members.
