Alex Greene has been singing his songs of subversion since first appearing in the unfolk scene in 1980s New York. He soon settled in Memphis, where playing with Tav Falco’s Panther Burns gave him the agitator blues. Since then, he’s played with many classic Memphis bands, including Big Ass Truck and the original Reigning Sound. With a songwriting style somewhere between Jonathan Richman and Robert Wyatt, Greene aims for songs that challenge listeners to make their own connections.
