The vocal stylings of Kennard Farmer are something to behold: familiar yet new and refreshing. Performing all over the Mid-South with some of the best musicians in Memphis, he puts on a show and brings a good time to the stage leaving it on fire. Kennard has crafted a tone and a vocal delivery that is highly energetic and soul stirring. He is a real, raw and highly developed talent.
Born and raised in Florida, Kennard began his musical journey at the age of 11. As a trumpet player in the school's marching band, he became interested in music-making and was exposed to music in various places from church, school, television and radio. It’s easy to see the sheer development of musicianship in Kennard’s work throughout the years. From a young natural talent that led the local choir, to recording and performing with Memphis’ finest producers and artists (Boo Mitchel, Albert King Jr, Public Enemy’s Khari Wynn just to mention a few). Kennard’s affinity for musical instruments has also led him to develop his piano skills becoming a resident musician at local churches, as well as writing and producing his own music. Kennard moved to Memphis, Tennessee to seek a bigger environment for his passion to grow and mature. And in 2010 he graduated with a BA in Music Business at the University of Memphis and became part of the Memphis music environment.
Over the past 14 years Kennard has performed throughout the Bluff City and the surrounding area in styles ranging from Jazz, Reggae, Gospel, Soul and Trap music. He has made guest appearances for other artists as a vocalist, musician and producer. Be on the lookout for more performances and new material in 2020.
